MIA
I feel like I’ve been totally offline this weekend…and it’s because I have been. I was in a wedding on Saturday and my Mom kept Waverly all day. It was the longest I had ever been away from her before and it was definitely a full fun day. (Pumping in a bridesmaids dress in a church classroom can now be checked off the ‘Things I Never Thought I’d Do but Now Have’...

The pool at our resort was a great place for people watching this past weekend.
It dramatically increased the interest level during W’s tummy time session. She was people watching like a real pro.

When you go to bed hungry...
Rob: Whataburger would be so good right now.
Me: You know we would not feel good if we ate Whataburger right now.
Rob: But it's just right down the road, I can go pick it up right now.
Me: Not a good idea.
Rob: You know that last scene of LOST where Jack's surrounded by all his friends?
Me: Yeah
Rob: Well in my church I'm just going to be surrounded by hamburgers. Hamburgers with bacon & jalepenos.
Moral of this story? Try not to go to bed angry OR hungry.

To Nap or Not Nap...that is the Question
Here’s how it usually goes. I finally get Waverly to sleep and my mind starts to race with excitement about all the possibilities of things I finally get a chance to do. Maybe I can eat something, or maybe I’ll take a shower. Maybe I’ll update the blog a bit or get caught up on my tweets. Maybe I’ll call Hub or Mom or maybe I’ll actually READ A BOOK. Or maybe, just...

Fun in the sun?
We are preparing for our big ‘Staycation’ this weekend. We’re going to the Four Seasons here in Dallas for a 3 night stay that will include lounging by the pool or possibly taking a stroll around the events at the Byron Nelson golf tournament.
This involves sun exposure - on the oh so sensitive skin of our 3 month old. So I called our lovely pediatrician to get her advice on how...

My favorite thing I bought W yesterday...
…is her new Soft Spot play mat.
Our house has not one stitch of carpet so it was time to get something cushy for her tushy. Before I was just stacking blankets on top of blankets hoping they were soft enough for her playmat & tummy time. Now she has a colorful, soft, fun place to play. And it’s super portable with handles and all. Mom rating - A+

So I decide to run to Whataburger to grab a quick bite to eat and look who decides to have a full on conversation with her Aunt Jess while I’m gone? Little Miss Chatty-Cathy. Good thing Aunt Jess grabbed the Flip camera in a jiffy to catch this little talk on tape.
Thanks Aunt Jess.

Baby bad dreams? Whaaaaat?
So thanks to everyone for the responses on the random sleep crying out there. I’m so glad to know it’s not just me. (whew!)
But I have had quite a few responses insinuating that the babies could be having night terrors or bad dreams. Really? I’m not doubting you guys at all but it’s just something I don’t want to think about as being possible.
What are the babies...

Random crying out loud?
Any other moms ever had this happen?
Baby is napping peacefully like a little angel. Then out of nowhere he/she cries. Not just a little baby whimper - a full on wail from their baby gut!
I go rushing over to make sure she isn’t dying or bleeding in her swing as she naps as it might sound…but I get there and what is it I see? She’s still asleep! She has ceased her wailing and...

Props to The Man...
This post is just for Hub who made my Mother’s Day superb.
He acquired the exact cupcakes I had requested (thru traffic & all). He helped to tidy up the house & take Oliver on walks. He changed a few diapers and woke up at 2 AM with me when Waverly decided to surprise us with a tiny fuss-episode. He was a chivalrous gent on our date and he played with my hair in the movie (easily...

Ever heard the ‘Teddy Bear Picnic’ song? I hadn’t…until Hub’s parents came to visit and introduced this cute little lullaby to Waverly.
They said Hub would listen to this little song when he was little and now thanks to the modern conveniences of YouTube today you can find the ‘Teddy Bear Picnic’ song along with illustrations!
Waverly really did love...

Waves takes flight!
We flew to New Orleans for a wedding I was in and I had been nervous about this trip coming up or a while now. I’ve seen the chaos a baby/toddler can unleash on a plane & it’s passengers and I’ve been the person who just wanted to scream “Can you shut that kid up? We’re flying ova here!” I didn’t want to be the one getting the...
